House Dems Block Resolution condemning violence in churches

House Democrats on Tuesday blocked a Republican resolution that would have condemned the violence seen by radical pro-abortion activists at churches and pro-life pregnancy centers in recent months.

After the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade was leaked in May, churches and pregnancy centers have seen a wave of attacks from radical pro-abortion activists. For example, an individual allegedly lit and threw a Molotov cocktail at Wisconsin Family Action facilities. Additionally, radical pro-abortion group Jane’s Revenge has admitted vandalizing and threatening four churches in Washington.

Violence in churches and pregnancy centers continued after the Supreme Court formally overturned the landmark abortion case. There were reportedly more than 50 cases of arson or vandalism at these locations after the court ruling was finalized and more than 100 since the notice was leaked.

Introduced by Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA), House Resolution 1233 would have issued widespread condemnation of the violence, vandalism and threats in which pro-abortion radicals have engaged in against pro-life pregnancy centers and Christian churches.

Johnson said Congress’ failure to condemn the violence at these places “emboldens” radical protesters to pursue their crimes. Unsurprisingly, 219 House Democrats voted against the resolution proposed in the House by Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (PA-14).

House Democrats are trailing their leader, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who refuse to condemn violence in churches and pregnancy centers when asked about it last month.

β€œIt got out of control. Radical leftists have been emboldened by this body’s inaction following the flight of opinion, and now they have targeted their violence against the very groups that care for women and their unborn children in their times. the most vulnerable,” Johnson said. “It is unacceptable.”

β€œWhen will this body rise against the crowd? When are we going to restore law and order? Johnson continued. β€œOur side is ready to act. We have the obligation and the responsibility to do so.
