Hornets could return to Earth

There was a time when it seemed like the Charlotte Hornets were the most exciting young team in the entire NBA.

With help from LaMelo Ball, Miles Bridges, Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward and more, the Hornets were in better shape than they had been in years.

Ball had really added new electric energy to the team and fans could see them dive deep into the playoffs for the first time in a long time.

But things have changed.

Now the Hornets are just struggling to make it to the Play-In tournament.

Coming off of Sunday night’s loss to the Detroit Pistons, Charlotte is 2-10 in their last 12 games and 0-7 in overtime this season.

These are not encouraging numbers for the young team and if they have any hope of qualifying for the playoffs like before, they must do everything they can to get the ship back on track.

Right the wrongs

Some people say the Hornets have peaked early now that they’re facing so many problems so late in the season.

There’s no denying that some of the team’s losses aren’t 100% their fault.

Sunday night, they stayed pretty close to the Pistons and did a decent job knocking out some Detroit players, but they just couldn’t keep control of Kelly Olynyk, who helped the team to the win.

But Charlotte needs her energy and spirit back and soon.

The Eastern Conference is extremely tough this year and they will have tough competition as they try to make it to the Finals.

If they keep playing like they have, there’s no way they can go all the way.
