Homer de Croom lands the birth of the CAA Tournament

The Seahawks had taken a 3-2 lead in the top of the inning with Noah’s Bridges capping a two-run rally with a triple RBI with two outs.

Ron Evans led UNCW with a pair of hits while Croom notched his sixth homer of the season. The Seahawks circuit was also Brooks Baldwin in the seventh inning. It was his 10th of the season.

Hunter Hodges picked up the win to move to 2-1, striking out all four batters he faced.

Costello went 2 for 3 with three RBIs while Max Viera added two hits and scored twice.

Jordy Allard (2-2) took the loss in relief for the Huskies.

How did it happen: After seeing the Huskies take a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth, the Seahawks responded with a pair of runs to regain a 5-4 lead. Ethan Baucom worked a one-out walk and two batters later, following an out, Croom smashed a ball to right center for a two-run shot and the lead.
