Rohit Sharma and Co. are all set for a grueling schedule as they prepare for the next two World Cups over the next 18 months. The Indian team will now join their respective franchises for the IPL 2022, which kicks off in less than two weeks.

The IPL will be there for the next two months before the team reunites for a limited series against South Africa at home. The series will serve as a preparatory ground for the tour of Ireland and England, with the Indian team set to play a rescheduled 5th Test and limited fixtures.

After the Indian tour in England, Rohit Sharma and Co will travel to the West Indies for a limited series, which will then be followed by a tour in Zimbabwe. The Men in Blue are also set to take part in the Asian Cup to be held in the United Arab Emirates, in preparation for the T20 World Cup, which is due to start on October 16.

  • IPL 2022 (March-May)
  • India vs South Africa (June)
  • Indian Tour of Ireland and England (July)
  • Tour from India to the West Indies
  • Zimbabwe Indian Tour
  • Asian Cup 2022
  • T20 World Cup (October-November)

The Indian team will mainly play T20Is on these tours. It will be time for the final round of auditions for players to claim their right to the mega event in Australia. However, India coach Rahul Dravid said the team’s management had more or less identified the core of the squad that could play in the World Cup. After the last T20I against the West Indies, Dravid said he didn’t want to spread his net too much. But with such a busy schedule, he will have to play with a large pool of players.

The Indian team is also set to play the 2022 Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates, ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia.
