Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds celebrates Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney’s birthday with hilarious urinal plaque unveiling

Ryan Reynolds celebrated the birthday of his Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney in historic fashion – with a urinal plaque at the Racecourse Ground.

Hollywood stars Reynolds and McElhenney took over the club in February 2021 and brought their comedic value to Wales with a number of viral clips – but this one might top the lot.

dead Pool star Reynolds is one of America’s most recognizable faces, and played on that dynamic with It’s always sunny in Philadelphia actor and creator McElhenney, with hilarious consequences.

This time the prank ended in the toilets at Wrexham Stadium, with Reynolds celebrating his co-owner’s 45th birthday the only way he knows how.

Standing in front of a cistern, Reynolds, wearing his increasingly iconic Wrexham hat, begins to pay homage to McElhenney.

He says, “Today we commemorate a man, not just any man, a man…”

And then interrupting the shot comes a fan who has clearly just used the facilities.

“Top of town,” Reynolds says. “Aren’t you going to wash your hands? OKAY.”

He then continues; “Today we celebrate Mr. Co-Chair, Robert Lucinda McElhenney with this commemorative urinal.”

The champagne is uncorked and a bow is then cut out of a gold plate with a clumsy image of McElhenney engraved with the message: “This urinal is dedicated to Robert McElhenney on his birthday – April 14th.

“With love from Wrexham AFC. Paid for by Ryan Reynolds.

“Congratulations, Rob,” Reynolds finishes, before the toilet flushing sound effects round out the clip perfectly.

The good vibes continue to come for in-form Wrexham, who have the prospect of an FA Trophy final to look forward to at Wembley in March, as well as the conclusion of their promotion campaign.

And with the champagne likely to keep flowing as the season draws to a close, McElhenney’s latest gift will likely come in handy.
