Hilary Duff shares daughter Mae with hand-foot-mouth disease

Hilary Duf shared that her baby girl is facing an illness.

The Lizzie McGuire star said her 16-month-old daughter Mae James Baierthat she shares with her husband Matthew Komasuffers from hand-foot-mouth disease.

“None of my other children has ever had the hand, the foot [and] mouth so I’ve never seen it before,” Hilary said in her August 10 Instagram Stories. “It looks awful.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, hand, foot and mouth disease is a mild viral infection that can cause sores in the mouth and a rash on the hands and feet.

Hilary said she felt “so weird” because she hadn’t been able to be by her daughter’s side all day as she was at work.

“I love my job so much, but it’s just a small tribute to working parents who have to leave their children at times that don’t seem natural,” she said. “And it kind of goes against everything in their body not to be with them in times like that.”
