Nature takes center stage in this four-bedroom Colonial on over 2 acres, from the beam work and hardwood floors to the expansive mullionless windows that capture natural light and the beauty of the wooded grounds.

Terracotta tiles line the entrance hall, with a double-door closet to the right providing a place to store jackets and shoes. Straight ahead is a family room with beige walls and exposed beams running through the ceiling. There is room for a sofa and a few chairs around the brick fireplace, which has a built-in wood stove. Across the street, a small tiled section of the family room with large windows overlooks the courtyard pool. The lighting in this room is recessed and the parquet floor is oak.

The formal dining room sits deeper in the house and features white upper walls and beige lower walls bisected by a chair rail. A four-light rail hangs from an exposed beam above the dining table. Two windows provide unobstructed views of the surrounding forest and a set of glass doors lead out to the pool area.

To the right of this room, an open layout encompassing an informal dining room and the kitchen runs the length of one side of the house.
The kitchen has white cabinets, dark granite counter tops and oak flooring. The counter is L-shaped, with two pendant lights hanging above the shorter leg, which provides seating for two. The sink is diagonally facing the dining room. A glossy subway tile backsplash in a variety of whitish hues lines two walls. The appliances are all stainless steel and the lighting is recessed.
In the dining room, one wall is lined with almost floor-to-ceiling windows and a sliding glass door opens onto a wooden deck. There is enough space for a dining table that seats six and a built-in pantry with double doors sits to the right. Recessed lighting and exposed beams also continue throughout this area, with an elegantly sculpted support beam at its center.

A cloakroom with hooks for coats and bags and a built-in wooden bench serves as a link between the kitchen/dining room and a living room where four white built-in bookcases line one wall and there is more than enough space for two chairs, a coffee table and a sofa. A set of three windows let in natural light. The walls in this room are grey, the floor is oak and the lighting is recessed.
A hallway to the right of the living room contains a powder room with beige walls, white beaded paneling, a console/pedestal sink and a glass window. A laundry room completes this floor.

The stairs to the second floor are to the right of the fireplace in the family room. The first bedroom on this level is the 552 square foot owner’s suite, which faces the side yard and gunite pool. The ceiling is vaulted and the space features slanted windows, exposed beams, a ceiling fan, oak flooring and sconces mounted either side of the bed. A wood-burning fireplace offers a convenient way to keep heating bills under control, and two walk-in closets with double louvered doors fill the right wall. (The owners never used the fireplace, though.) A sliding glass door at the far end of the room leads to a balcony with enough room for a few lounge chairs.
The owner’s suite bathroom features square 50s-style black and white tiles that run throughout the space and halfway up the walls. The fiberglass tub/shower combo has jets and the double vanity is topped with Corian. A skylight fills the space with natural light.

The remaining three bedrooms, which range from 114 to 225 square feet, are found at the end of the hallway. The two largest bedrooms contain a ceiling fan, a double door closet and several windows each, while the final room, which has an exposed beam running through the ceiling, is set up as a home office.
These bedrooms share a full bathroom with a tub/shower combo and a double vanity topped with white Corian that complements the seafoam-colored cabinetry. The floor is gray tile, and jeweled frames line the two mirrors above. above the vanity. The windows, including a skylight, let in lots of natural light.

The basement is finished and the home has an attached two-car garage with bonus space above.
The house has undergone several updates, including the installation of new sliders, an invisible fence, the roof, the heating system, all the terraces, the renovation of the kitchen and the bathroom and the interior painting.
