Here are the latest tips for viewers – NBC Chicago

Whether you are planning to attend a Blackhawks game or attend a concert at the United Center, certain COVID precautions are always encouraged.

While some recommendations have changed as a result of changes in COVID guidelines and measures, other measures put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19 remain in place.

Here’s what you need to know about COVID policies and procedures:

Mask Policy

Masks are recommended for those attending events on site, but not required, according to the latest guidelines.

In late February, the United Center relaxed its COVID-19 guidelines in the arena following the City of Chicago’s lifting of its mask and vaccination proof mandates for restaurants, bars and other indoor establishments. From then on, masks were recommended, not required.

What should I do if I recently tested positive for COVID?

Anyone who tests positive for COVID should stay home. On its website, the United Center encourages such people to transfer their ticket to someone who does not have symptoms.

Is proof of vaccination required?

It is currently not necessary to provide proof of vaccination and the results of a negative COVID-19 test.

When the United Center relaxed its COVID guidelines in late February, the venue opted to allow either proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results for entry.

Previously, only proof of vaccination was accepted.

About a month after this change, the site adjusted the rules and eliminated the requirements.

What else should I know?

  • All tickets are paperless to allow contactless scanning from mobile devices.
  • Backpacks are prohibited, but guests may enter with a small purse or personal bag no larger than 10″ x 6″ x 2″.
  • The arena is completely cashless. Contactless options are available to purchase food, drink and merchandise.
