Two Colorado neighbors dialed 911 dispatchers to report an allegedly savage confrontation with Rep. Lauren Boebert’s (R-Colo.) husband, according to call records obtained by the Denver Post.
The confrontation took place earlier this month and allegedly involved property damage and threats from Jayson Boebert, who is known to pack guns, neighbors reported.
A woman, who has not been identified by the Denver Post, told the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 4 that one of the Boeberts’ four sons sped in a go-kart on the quiet residential street of Silt.
“It’s going 50 miles an hour, and it’s a residential road, there are children,” the neighbor reported. “We tried to stop him, and he laughed at us.”
It’s “the Boeberts if you know who the Boeberts are,” she added. “I need a sheriff here.”
After complaints about his son, Jayson Boebert allegedly drove his van to smash the neighbor’s mailbox, a second neighbor said in a 911 call.
“Stop, moron! Get the hell out of here,” the second neighbor shouted in the middle of the call, apparently addressing Boebert. “Come on man. What are you doing? What did we do wrong? I live here!”
When the dispatcher asked if anyone was armed, the second neighbor replied, “I’m sure it’s loaded to the hilt. Do you to know who is his wife? Laurent Boebert. She is loaded. They all have guns… of course he has guns.
He “threatened everyone I know standing here,” the first neighbor said, according to the Denver Post. “He’s just been chest to chest, face to face, looking to fight.”
The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office dispatched four deputies to the scene but did not initiate an investigation and no one was arrested, the newspaper reported.
Sheriff Lou Vallario told the newspaper that everyone “agreed to sort it out as neighbors. No charges. No further action.
The Boeberts did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
American Muckrakers, an anti-Boebert political action committee, called on Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser, the local district attorney, and the Colorado Bureau of Investigations to investigate Boebert’s relationship with the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office .
“This was clearly a serious situation as there were two 911 calls, five deputies and at least four families involved,” American Muckrakers chief David Wheeler wrote in an email requesting the investigation, reported. the post.
Lauren Boebert, a staunch gun advocate, sparked controversy last year when she posed with her sons (the youngest was 7 at the time) for their gun-wielding Christmas greeting card. ‘assault.
The couple’s former bar, Shooters Grill in Rifle, Colorado, encouraged patrons to openly carry guns.
Jayson Boebert was arrested in 2004 and pleaded guilty to public indecency and obscene exposure in an incident involving two minors at a local bowling alley. Lauren Boebert has a history of minor arrests and court defections, The Post reported. She is currently running for re-election against former Aspen City Councilman Adam Frisch.
