The Daily Telegraph splashes out with ‘Biden to decline coronation invitation’, reporting that the US President is not expected to attend the event which will see Charles crowned at Westminster Abbey on May 6. The United States wants to avoid giving the impression of a “cover-up”, writes the newspaper, and will send high-level representatives instead. Citing sources close to the talks, the Telegraph says London and Washington played down the story – saying Mr Biden’s attendance was still ‘unlikely’ but the decision was not final.
