‘Hats off’ to Georgia DA for pursuing Trump ‘very aggressively’

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said on MSNBC’s “The Last Word” on Tuesday that his hat is off to Fulton County Attorney Fani Willis because she is investigating former President Donald Trump’s action after the 2020 elections “in a very aggressive way”.

Anchor Lawrence O’Donnell said, “Now you’ve already had your audience in Georgia. It seems like a month ago. It was a few weeks ago. The hearing in Georgia with Brad Raffensperger, who we know is a grand jury witness in Georgia. Today we receive a flood of subpoenas for this grand jury, including for US Senator Lindsey Graham. What did you see in there? Did you see a pattern in those subpoenas that were sent out today? »

Schiff said, “Yeah, the Fulton County prosecutor, hats off to her, he’s very aggressively pursuing this, the bogus election plot, the attempt to interfere with the secretary of state’s office, with the secretary of State in particular. The calls, the insistence, the false allegations of fraud, the misrepresentation of that video that took place at the State Farm Arena suggesting corruption that wasn’t there. I have to think it was very eye-opening for the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office to watch our hearing and see Attorney General Bill Barr, the Deputy Attorney General and others talk about how they investigated that. How completely absurd that was, and they told the president. And so it demonstrates that the president and his campaign knew what they were pushing in Georgia was just plain wrong and fraudulent. So I think that provided important evidence to the district attorney’s office. ”
