Harry Kane failed to show up for Tottenham’s pre-season training amid speculation about his future with the club.
The 28-year-old was due to return to Hotspur Way on Monday after a short vacation.
Sky Sports News exclusively reported in May that Kane had told Spurs he wanted to leave this summer with Man City, Manchester United and Chelsea interested.
At the end of June, Manchester City made an offer of £ 100million for the England captain.
Kane is valued at over £ 120million and Tottenham are keen to keep him despite the forward believing he has a gentleman’s agreement with Daniel Levy.
Levy, who appointed ex-Juventus football officer Fabio Paratici as the club’s new general manager of football, said in June he sympathized with Kane’s frustrations over the lack of silverware at Spurs, but has hinted that a deal might be difficult to strike.
Man City president Khaldoon Al Mubarak said after last season’s Champions League final that the club would be “competitive and aggressive” this summer, and aim to strengthen themselves by bringing “quality. to the team in a few key positions “.
Spurs remain in talks for Atalanta’s Romero
Tottenham are still in talks with Atalanta over a deal for center-back Cristian Romero.
Spurs have made an offer of at least £ 34million (€ 40million) for the Argentina international, but no charges have been agreed with the Italian club.
Personal terms with the 23-year-old shouldn’t be a problem if the two clubs can agree on a fee, with Tottenham ready to give Romero a five-year contract plus an additional one-year option.
Tottenham’s new football managing director Fabio Paratici has stepped up talks over Romero, who also attracted interested Manchester United earlier this summer, having already reached a loan deal for Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini .
