Harness racing selections: Saturday 30 April

Two meetings to watch on Saturday night, with Albion Park and Tabcorp Park Menangle catching my eye. Below are the best bets for the respective programs.

Albion Park

Best bet: Race 4, Number 1, Jasper

It will be short but it will win. Dominated an Australian Pacing Gold Heat here on the last start controlling from the front and looking at nothing else, winning and winning comfortably. The depth here is not nearly as strong. She will lead comfortably and win comfortably.

Next Best: Race 9, Number 1, My Ultimate Jacko

Quality juvenile that should be too sharp for this lot. Stuck 1/1 from a bad start on the last start and once that happened the race was over. From the post, he should have little trouble leading and from the front, for a very fit team, he will be short but should dominate.

Value: Race 1, Number 1, Tommy Lincoln

Gee, this guy looks like a big prize. It lacks the class of a few key runners here, but it ultimately offers a doorway to not work and follow fast speed. His recent form is nothing exceptional, but the leaders here, I think he will only run well at very good odds.

Tabcorp Park Menangle

Best bet: Race 3, Number 3, Justa Little Bit

Is clearly the best of the program. Raced here last Saturday and damn it he was massive in the loss from behind, drawing gate eight. Had to back up but loved the way it closed. He draws to lead, stalks speed at worst, and with that better run in transit, he’ll take some beating power.

Next Best: Race 7, Number 3, My Ultimate Snowy

Rising star colt that is a good multi anchor for the night. Undefeated in three career outings, he comfortably took care of them here last time out in a run and overall the depth here isn’t strong. He should find the front comfortably and go undefeated. $1.40/approx a good multi booster.

Value: Race 5, Number 3, I’m the captain

Big 1×3 bet in Group 1. Ran a beauty in a round of this race just under two weeks ago, second to My Ultimate Byron. This run should be an ankle-dominated affair, with this guy landing three behind the ankles, doing no work, sitting out at good speed, and being strong late.
