Hardik Pandya should beat top five in any white ball format, notes Michael Vaughan

Michael Vaughan has remarked that Hardik Pandya should be in the top five for India in the ODIs and T20Is if he remains 100% fit to play. Vaughan’s comments came after Hardik’s superb display at Southampton on July 7, where he won four wickets and scored 51 runs to help India beat England.

Since Hardik Pandya Returning to full form at IPL 2022, the all-around star played most often with bat and ball. Then with the ball he returned excellent numbers from 4-33 to limit England to 148 in 19.3 overs. In the process, he became the first player in the country to score twice (over 50 runs and four wickets) in a T20I game.

“If Hardik can make 6-8 overs in games over 50, that will help India tremendously. He should beat in the top five in any white ball format. They’ve always had batters and bowlers but didn’t have anyone in the top five who could make a few overs,” Vaughan said on Cricbuzz.

Moreover, the former England skipper praised Hardik for putting on a great all-around show for the Gujarat Titans to lead them to winning the IPL 2022 trophy in their debut season.

“I think the way he hit in the IPL was special. If he hits in the top five, it gives so much depth that India can then play an extra hitter, an extra pacer or a spinner depending on the conditions. Hardik was exceptional with the bat and I picked up those four wickets and had a near perfect game. Couldn’t do anything wrong today. A big, big win for India to start the series “, he added.
