Hamas has released a new video showing the first proof of life of American hostage Keith Siegal.

Siegel appears thin in the three-minute sequence, where at one point he bursts into tears, bends his head and cries.

Seigel and his compatriot Omri Miran – who also appears in the video – say in Hebrew that they are praying for a hostage deal that will see them and other captives return home, the Times of Israel reported.

The video is undated but Siegel, 64, talks about the Passover holiday and Miran, 46, says he has been held captive for 202 days.

Siegel was taken hostage with his wife, Aviva Siegel, 62, at their home on Kibbutz Kfar Aza during the deadly Hamas attacks in Israel on October 7, which killed 1,200 people.

Aviva was among dozens of hostages released in November as part of a temporary ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel.
