Guitarist Yasmin Williams makes music without words but not without meaning

But I mean the more I’m influenced by how a musician behaves or expresses himself in his music.

For example, Chuck Brown, a go-go legend, is an influence on me because he fundamentally changed the musical landscape of an entire region, Washington, DC, all by himself.

Same thing with Jimi Hendrix. He played the guitar masterfully. No one knew what he was doing. Nobody knew how he did it. He didn’t really care what critics had to say about him playing – in quotes – “badly”. He played what he wanted to play.
