Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Filming Wrapped, James Gunn Teases ‘Unannounced Actor’

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 wrapped production on May 7, writer and director James Gunn announced.

Gunn took to Twitter and Instagram to reveal that filming for the third (and final) episode of the Guardians of the Galaxy series – part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – has wrapped.

The photo shows Gunn, 55, sitting next to cast members from the Marvel movie, including Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Gunn’s brother Sean Gunn, Karen Gillan and Dave Bautista.

Gunn wrote in the caption, “And this is a recap of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy. I love this amazing cast (and) this crew (and) their beautiful talent (and) their good souls. lucky human to have them on the journey with me for nearly a decade.”

James also teased, “And yes Zoe (Saldana) was with us, but the only photo I have with her has an unannounced actor with us!”

In a follow-up photo featuring Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 clap, Gunn shared more of his thoughts, “After 100+ days of filming (and) 3000+ shots, here’s the slate for the final shot for #GotGVol3, brought to you by the film crew. It was an easy shot of Rocket sitting down, 1st with (Sean Gunn), (and) then nothing there, (and) took everything inside me not to collapse sobbing in place.

“Most of the last ten years of my life have been spent working (and) thinking about Guardians. I still have a long way ahead of me with VFX (and) editing, but it was still momentous for me.

“It’s pretty simple to explain to others how much I love this cast (and) this team. It’s harder to explain how much I love these characters – that I see them as parts of me – even (and) parts of those I love, (and) filming them, (and) writing their words, is one way to express that love.

“Again, I will continue to work with them over the next year until they come out, but filming that last shot reminded me of the warm impermanence of life (and) love, (and ) how this impermanence makes her so precious, so precious. , (and) is a good reason to be grateful for what I have right now.

“Anyway. The film crew also glued their handmade camera lens caps to the back of the slate for me, which matches the second photo. Lots of love to all of you.”

The first two films in the series, 2014 guardians of the galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 generated total revenue of over $1.6 billion (about Rs 12,400 crore) worldwide.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will premiere on May 5, 2023 in cinemas worldwide.
