GTA Trilogy’s next big patch fixes misspellings, rain, and CJ’s face covering the camera

Rockstar’s next title update for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition seeks to solve a huge list of issues with buggy remasters.

The game had a rough launch, and there are plenty of fixes that seem to fix some of the more newsworthy issues in games. Lots of fixes relate to rain. Many misspellings have apparently been corrected. I spotted two “hole in the game world” fixes in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition. There are also two fixes for CJ’s face hiding the camera in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition, which (unfortunately) can fix the absolutely amazing bug shown in this video:

The patch also makes “stability improvements”, fixes some textures, and adds a cinematic camera mode. You can read the full list of fixes for Title Update 1.03 on the Rockstar website. Rockstar says the update is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One and PC and that it will be available for the Nintendo Switch “in the coming days”.

Rockstar has apologized for the difficult launch just over a week after the game’s November 11 release date. “The updated versions of these classic games have not been released in a condition that meets our own quality standards, or the standards our fans have come to expect,” the company said. “We have plans underway to resolve technical issues and improve each game in the future.”
