Grisly details implicating Michigan man charged with murder, mutilation of girlfriend, living with body for months

Horrific details related to the case of a Michigan man accused of killing and maiming his girlfriend at his condo were revealed at a hearing on Thursday, including the storage of her body in a basement bathroom For many months.

Matthew Lewinski is charged with first-degree murder, disinterring and mutilating a corpse and concealing the death of a person in connection with the death of Jerri Winters, also passed by Courtney, Fox Detroit reported.

Lewinski’s sister and her husband testified in a preliminary hearing that they discovered the body at the Clinton Township residence in July 2021.

Debra Federico told the court that her brother lived in the condo, which belonged to her father. She said she had concerns about him and hadn’t spoken to him in some time.

Her husband, Joseph Federico, went to the basement while his wife waited outside. The couple’s son and a family friend were also present.

“I saw something on the ground, I didn’t know what it was,” testified Joseph Federico.

He said he could only see the arms and legs of the body. Det. of Clinton Township Michael Chirco testified that he reacted to the scene and saw the naked body, face down, arms outstretched and skin removed from the body.

Lewinski was hospitalized at the time, having been admitted the day before when he was found wandering the resort in his underwear, the outlet said. He reportedly told investigators he choked Winters for five minutes before she stopped moving.

BeliandWhen she was dead, he moved her body to the downstairs bathroom, Fox Detroit reported. Prosecutors believe Winters was killed in December 2020.
