Edward Deezen, the actor best known for playing geek Eugene Felsnic in the 1978 film “Grease”, was arrested Thursday in LaVale, Md., For resisting arrest after becoming disorderly at a restaurant and throwing objects, including food, at sheriff’s deputies.
Deezen was asked to leave the LaVale restaurant by staff and would not do so, prompting law enforcement to respond, the Allegany County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.
Deezen “was screaming loudly and disturbing the other customers inside” and eventually, police said, “had to be forcibly removed from the bench / table” where he had been hiding.
The actor “threw many items at MPs, including plates, bowls and food,” according to the press release from the Sheriff’s Department. An object would have struck a deputy.
Deezen was eventually arrested and transferred to a local jail to await a court appearance, where he will face charges of second degree assault, disorderly conduct and trespassing.
Deezen did not immediately respond to an NBC News request for comment.
