Grass-Fed Children, No Medicines for Rape Victims: Aid to African Crises Cut as Needs Rise


KAMPALA, Uganda — In Chad, refugees from Sudan’s war are feeding grass and insects to starving children after cash-strapped United Nations agencies cut off food rations. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, clinics treating victims of sexual violence lack basic supplies such as painkillers. In Mali, an additional 200,000 displaced children are out of school because European governments have cut funding.
