Governor Inslee signs ban on sale of magazines with more than 10 cartridges

Washington Governor Jay Inslee (D) on Wednesday signed a law banning the sale of ammunition magazines containing more than 10 rounds.

Oregon Public Broadcasting reported that the new magazine law “[ban] the manufacture, import, distribution and sale of larger capacity firearm magazines. However, the law still requires those who already own “larger capacity” magazines to keep them.

the Seattle Times noted Inslee also signed two other gun controls, one of which will “restrict weapons in government meetings and election spaces” and the second “further strengthen bans on the assembly of untraceable ‘ghost’ weapons” .

While signing the bills, Inslee said, “The NRA’s hold on this state has been broken. And the reason for that is the courage of the parents, and the courage of the legislators too…”

The Associated Press observed that California also banned magazine capacity.

On March 23, 2022, Breitbart News noted that robberies with a firearm in Los Angeles, California were “up 44% from 2021” and “57% from 2020”.

The LAPD advises residents that “traveling in groups and staying in well-lit areas can help deter opportunists from attempting street robbery.”
