During an interview aired in Monday’s edition of Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight”, Kyle Rittenhouse said Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) “failed the community” in Kenosha and that the city police did not get the support they needed, “and there should have been a lot more resources to help with that.”
Rittenhouse said [relevant remarks begin around 4:40] that he approached the owners of the parking lot he was protecting and asked them if they needed any help, and they said yes.
Host Tucker Carlson then asked, “Where were the police?
Rittenhouse replied, “I’m not really sure. Because they have a tough job. But I didn’t really think they were getting the support they needed. The National Guard should have been called … but the town of Kenosha failed their – the community. Governor Tony Evers let the community down and there should have been a lot more resources to help with that. “
