WASHINGTON – Senator Lindsey Graham, RS.C., said on Monday that he had tested positive for Covid-19 even after being vaccinated.
Graham said in a statement he started experiencing flu-like symptoms on Saturday night and went to the US House doctor on Monday morning.
“I feel like I have a sinus infection and right now I have mild symptoms,” said Graham, who will self-quarantine for 10 days.
He added: “I am very happy to have been vaccinated because without the vaccination I am sure I would not feel as well as I do now. My symptoms would be much worse. “
Authorities and health experts point out that vaccines remain remarkably effective in preventing serious illness and death. Major infections of people who have been vaccinated, which are expected with large-scale vaccination campaigns, represent less than 0.08% of the 164.2 million and more people who have been fully vaccinated since January, or about one in 1,300.
A member of the White House staff and a senior communications assistant to the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, recently tested positive for Covid-19 after being fully vaccinated.
