Google Nest Doorbells Has Holiday Ringtones Again

Google announced on Wednesday on its community blog Nest the return of holiday-themed ringtones for Nest Doorbells (via 9to5Google). Visitors arriving for family vacation reunions can now ring the Nest doorbell and be greeted by vacation sounds, including “Winter,” Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, and New Year’s jingles.

Google also had holiday bell options last year, but only as a benefit to subscribers to its Nest Aware smart alert service. This year, owners of the battery-powered Nest Doorbell and the wired version (formerly Nest Hello) can have fun without this subscription. Google mentions that the new Nest Doorbell battery requires users to use the Google Home app with an account in order to enable themes, while wired users can also enable them through the app and the Nest site.

Google is starting the trend in seasonal ringtones. In October of this year, the company released Halloween-themed ringtones with several spooky tunes. Ghostly ringtones have also played on accompanying Nest speakers and hubs inside the home – a feature now available for new holiday ringtones so families and friends can get together before they even open. the door.

Google plans to run the new holiday ringtones from December 1 through New Years and after January 5, 2022.
