Google Chrome Web Store is getting an overhaul

The Chrome Web Store is a great place to find extensions, but it’s also a part of the world’s most popular browser that’s easy to forget. But now Google has launched a completely redesigned Chrome Web Store.

Updated 11/20: Google has officially launched the new Chrome Web Store, with the redesign having now completely replaced the original look and feel for all users. The radical redesign also came shortly after Google launched the new Material Design-inspired look for Chrome.

In an article on The keywordGoogle says:

Google first announced the Web Store redesign in a brief, unnoticed post last week. Google doesn’t specify in this article when this new design might take over by default, but in a developer article it mentions that users will be “encouraged” to try the new store over the next few weeks.

We are delighted to offer you a Preview from our redesigned Chrome Web Store to make it easier to find new themes and extensions. Changes include a modernized interface, custom extensions, and curated recommendations.

Thanks, Brian!
