Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Trailer Introduces the Epic Team-Up of… Well… Godzilla and Kong!

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has received a brand new trailer showcasing the epic team-up of Godzilla and Kong against a terrifying new threat led by an evil Kong-like villain.

The trailer begins with a voice saying that we thought life could only exist on the surface of our planet. As Godzilla vs. Kong showed us, they were dead wrong. However, there is much more that the people of the Monsterverse were not aware of, as a new empire aims to rise and threaten everything we hold dear.

Fortunately, Godzilla and Kong will work together to end this threat and we get a good look at some of their adventures in this trailer that will take us deep within the Earth and back to its surface. We also see Godzilla with new glowing pink spikes and Kong with a mechanical arm.

“The epic battle continues!” » reads the official description of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. “Legendary Pictures’ cinematic Monsterverse follows the explosive showdown of ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ with an all-new adventure that pits the all-powerful Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal, unknown threat hidden in our world, calling their existence into question even – and our own.

“Godzilla x Kong: The New Kingdom delves deeper into the history of these Titans and their origins, as well as the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythical battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and bond them to never to humanity.”

For more, check out our interview with Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire director Adam Wingard on the return of Titans Doug and this “evil, Kong-like” new villain.

“We wanted to find an antagonist who would be a match for both Kong and Godzilla, and that’s really hard to do,” he said. “There’s a lot more to this character and how he poses a threat, and that’s going to be something that’s going to be fun to dish out.”
