The betting market viewed the Bruins-Hurricanes series as a toss-up, with Carolina getting the slightest advantage for home ice advantage. Twelve days later, little has changed as the teams prepare to meet in Game 7 on Saturday, with the Canes seen as the home favourites.
And while none of the games have been close (there hasn’t been a one-goal game yet), the overall numbers for the series are pretty tight. Carolina has the slight edge in goals scored, 21-18, but when you kick out in an empty net, it gets a little tighter, at 18-16. The Canes also beat the B’s, 13-9, 5-5, but expected goals favor Boston 10.5-9.3.
In other words, even though the games haven’t been biting, this series deserves a Game 7, as neither team has separated from the other in six games.
Although the Bruins have yet to break through on the road, you must be impressed with how they fought to stay alive. Trailing 2-0 and then 3-2 again, the Bs responded with impressive wins each time. One of those wins came when Boston missed its two best defenders.
This game is a coin toss, so the plus-money prize on Boston is worth a bet.
The game: Bruins +110
