Gerwyn Price categorically punished fellow Welshman Jonny Clayton during World Matchplay to set up a meeting against defending champion Dimitri Van den Bergh

World champion Gerwyn Price fled with victory in the highly anticipated all-Welsh competition against Premier League winner Jonny Clayton in World Matchplay in sweltering Blackpool on Tuesday night.

Defending champion Dimitri Van den Bergh clocked an incredible 14,180s, averaging 103.97 to defeat Dave Chisnall and set up a tantalizing clash against Price.

Young contender Callan Rydz continued his dream run in the tournament, accumulating with four sensational finishes right on target, including The Big Fish, to take out former champion Rob Cross.

Krzysztof Ratajski will face Rydz after the Pole has reached the quarter-finals for the second year in a row by beating giant slayer Luke Humphries.
