Giroud attacked by vandals!
Some tricolor supporters seem to have a grudge against the top scorer in the history of the France team….
Canceled for the past two years due to the Covid, the Granville Carnival is about to make a comeback. The festivities will be held from February 17 to 21 and the Granvillais are in full preparation. To this end, the organizers have renewed the Decorate your roundabout operation.
Children from the region’s reception centers have thus renovated subjects from past carnivals in order to install them on various roundabouts at the entrances to towns. The young people of Château-Bonheur had, for example, chosen to make a representation of Olivier Giroud, injured. A character installed on a roundabout in Sherborne.
The giant quickly repaired
But to believe The Channel Gazette, the effigy of the tricolor striker was ransacked by vandals during the weekend. To believe that some supporters of the France team still have their failed final against Argentina at the World Cup or the package of Karim Benzema, his eternal rival.
This act of vandalism has in any case not discouraged the designers of the giant who indeed worked hard to repair the character, reinstalled this Monday.
Created in 1875, the Carnaval de Granville was listed as a UNESCO World Cultural and Intangible Heritage Site in 2016 and brought together some 130,000 people during the last edition in 2020.
