A 13-year-old girl from Pennsylvania got more than a thrill riding a thrill ride at an amusement park – she had the shock of a lifetime.
This is because a seagull flew straight to her face while she and her friend were aboard the SpringShot Ride at Morey’s Piers in Wildwood, New Jersey.
Weatherly’s Kiley Holman was celebrating a friend’s 14th birthday Georgia Reed on July 6 when they boarded the ride, which pulls passengers through the air at speeds above 75 mph, according to the park’s website.
The girls’ journey was filmed, including the moment a seagull flew straight into Holman’s face.
“When I got shot I saw him. It went the other way around and then he came back and hit me in the face, ”Holman told local station WPVI. “It was really light and it left only the smallest scratch.”
The video shows Kiley shouting, “A bird flew in my face! A bird flew over my face! Oh my God! ”But Georgia had no idea what was going on right next to her.
“I was trying to tell him,” Kiley said. “She told me to stop talking because she thought she was going to throw up.”
Georgia’s mother watched the ride from below, but had no idea how insane it was to her daughter and Kiley.
“We didn’t know what had happened until they came down. We saw feathers fall from the ride, but at first I assumed they were tickets, ”Alena Reed told WPVI.
Kiley managed to keep her mind on her during the Aviary Trial.
“I waited for us to shoot and quickly took [the bird] Let go of me. … I didn’t know if this was going to hurt me, ”she told NJ.com. “The only thing that happened to me was a little cut, that’s all.”
Kiley apparently has mixed feelings about whether she’ll be leaving, telling WPVI she would and Fox29 Philadelphia she wouldn’t.
