The Philadelphia Phillies had a loss to forget on Thursday night, but it’s a loss manager Joe Girardi will find hard to forget.
Girardi’s Phillies took a 7-0 lead against the New York Mets and gave up seven runs in the ninth inning to lose 8-7.
Girardi sat down with MLB Network Radio’s Mike Ferrin on Friday and talked about the game. Ferrin asked if Girardi sometimes felt like the sport of baseball didn’t like him.
Girardi said yes. Then he talked about how he handled the terrible meltdown. The Phillies manager said he had trouble sleeping after the loss.
