George Santos Quits House Committees

Rep. George Santos, the New York Republican whose lies about his background have sparked the interest of prosecutors and late-night comedians, has resigned from the House committees he served on, according to various reports.

“He just felt like there was so much drama in the situation, and especially what we are doing to eliminate [Rep.] Ilhan Omar [D-Minn.] of the foreign affairs committee,” said Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), according to CNN’s Manu Raju.

Santos was named to two of the less publicized House committees, the Science, Space and Technology Committee and the Small Business Committee.
