Petroleum Marketing Companies (OMCs) kept gasoline and diesel prices static for the second day in a row on Wednesday across the country.
In Delhi, gasoline costs Rs 104.44 per liter while the price of diesel was Rs 93.17 per liter. In Mumbai, gasoline can be purchased at Rs 110.41 per liter and diesel at Rs 101.03 per liter.
Prices differ from state to state depending on the incidence of local taxes.
Oil companies revise gasoline and diesel prices on a daily basis based on the average benchmark fuel price on the international market over the previous 15 days and exchange rates.
Meanwhile, the seventh consecutive day of price hikes on Monday pushed fuel prices to a new high. While the price of gasoline in most of the country is already above Rs 100 per liter, diesel prices have crossed this level in several states, with Kerala and Karnataka being the last.
Diesel costs Rs 100.15 per liter in Thiruvananthapuram.
Besides Kerala and Karnataka, diesel has crossed the 100 rupees per liter mark in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar and Leh.
