Gaslight Trailer: Sara Ali Khan Searches for Her Missing Father in Disney+ Hotstar Thriller

The Sara Ali Khan-directed Gaslight trailer is finally here. Ahead of its March 31 premiere, Disney+ Hotstar has unveiled a two-minute trailer for its latest crime thriller, charting a royal mystery surrounding a father’s disappearance, with haunting visions that call the legitimacy of it all into question. . In it, Khan plays a woman of different abilities, who returns to her ancestral home and suspects that her father has been murdered, though she struggles to convince anyone of his claims. Pavan Kripalani, best known for Bhoot Police, directs Gaslight, which also stars Chitrangda Singh (Modern Love Mumbai) and Vikrant Massey (Chhapaak) as protagonists.

The Gaslight trailer opens with Meesha (Khan) returning to the royal estate after 15 years, to be greeted by her stepmother Rukmini (Chitrangadha Singh) and her guards. “Look at you, big one! It’s so good to see you, Meesha… Welcome home,” she greets as Meesha neatly lines up her legs on her wheelchair. It is hinted that something sinister is at play here since Meesha was invited by her father, who is nowhere to be found. Rukmini claims he will be back in a few days and continues to observe a worried Meesha’s actions throughout. The Gaslight trailer then cuts to introduce Kapil (Massey), his father’s right-hand man, who maintains a safe distance from his boss’ personal belongings.

Unable to sleep, Meesha is then seen cruising in her wheelchair around the house at late hours, sometimes greeted by a dark entity wearing a top hat, who drags her down the stairs. Returning to a conscious state, she remains adamant that the figure she saw resembled her father, which is understandably closely scrutinized by the residents. “So you mean Ratan is back and playing hide and seek with us,” a policeman (Rahul Dev) asks in the Gaslight trailer. “You say you saw Raja Saheb in the night. If you saw him, then why did he disappear? On another one of her nighttime escapades, Meesha finds an abandoned car in the parking lot, only to discover her father’s corpse sitting inside. However, once she returns with Kapil – for help – the carcass appears to have vanished into thin air. Meesha is still holding her father’s cufflink which she took from the body, suggesting that she wasn’t lying after all and was deceived the whole time.

As the investigation escalates, the Gaslight trailer divulges itself in a montage, jumping between a submerged vehicle in the estate’s pond, a seemingly distraught Rukmini, another possible murder, and promises much more mayhem. . “It was difficult to step into this role both mentally and physically because he is a very complex and nuanced character. I hope this film will be an exciting adventure for the audience because every scene will keep them on the edge of their seat. I am grateful for the association with Tips Films Ltd, 12th Street Entertainment, Pavan Kirpalani and Disney+ Hotstar,” Khan said in a prepared statement. Gaslight also stars Akshay Oberoi (Junglee) as the one of the domain security officers.

Gaslight releases March 31, exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar.
