Gabriel Jesus to become Arsenal’s highest-paid player with £45m transfer from Man City ‘100% done’ as importance of Mikel Arteta and Edu to deal revealed

Gabriel Jesus’ £45m move to Arsenal is ‘100 per cent done’ with the Brazilian signing a five-year deal.
Jesus, who has been at Manchester City for five and a half years, will be the Gunners’ highest-paid player, according to talkSPORT.

It was announced on Friday that Arsenal and Man City have agreed a £45m deal for the player.
And transfer expert fabrice romano revealed Jesus had agreed personal terms with the club with Mikel Arteta, who was Pep Guardiola’s assistant at City, and Arsenal technical director Edu said he was “key” to signing him.
Jesus has been one of the main transfer targets for Mikel Arteta’s side so far this summer, with the 25-year-old also prioritizing a move to the club after making it clear he intended to leave the Premier League champions.
Jesus played 159 times in the Premier League, scoring 58 goals and collecting 32 assists.
While boasting a decent record in front of goal, South American football pundit Tim Vickery believes there is still a question mark over the striker’s best position.
Speaking on White and Jordan, Vickery said: “Six years ago a comparison was made between Gabriel Jesus and the original Brazilian Ronaldo.
“It came from the most impeccable source imaginable: the original Ronaldo, who said ‘this guy Gabriel Jesus reminds me of when I was a kid’.

“No one would make that comparison now. It’s not a criticism of Gabriel Jesus, but Ronaldo has gone from strength to strength and has become that powerful centre-forward.
“Gabriel Jesus, does he lack presence in the penalty area? There are a lot of things he does very well, but he seems to prefer to cut from afar.
Vickery added: “What is he? Does he want to play as a No.9 or does he want to play as a wide forward? He kind of ran away from the centre-forward position .

“I spoke with the Brazil coach of Gabriel Jesus not so long ago and he said that after the World Cup he called Gabriel Jesus and asked him: ‘Where do you want to play? ?’
“Gabriel Jesus said, ‘I don’t mind,’ but the coach said, ‘Obviously you mind, obviously you have a preference, what is your preference?’
“And a little sheepish, Gabriel Jesus said he prefers to play wide. This is important for whoever is going to buy him.
“If it’s Arsenal, I know Arteta knows him from Man City, but that’s a while ago and things are changing.”
