Fundraiser in Foley helps raise money for murder victim’s family


MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – It’s been just over two weeks since Tristan Bohannon’s life was tragically taken when he was robbed and murdered in broad daylight.

As the family continues to mourn their loss, Tristan’s father’s girlfriend, Christina Boykin, tries to help ease the pain by raising money for funeral expenses.

“They needed help fundraising for all the expenses, so I thought that would be a good idea,” Boykin said.

Boykin has set up a fundraiser to wash cars for free and accept all donations.

“I posted on my Facebook so people can go there and you know she has a lot of friends who donate and try to help the family bury Tristan,” said Amanda Walker, mother of Tristan. Christine.

The Sonic at Foley, where Boykin works, also posted fundraising signs throughout the restaurant. Christina’s manager and friend, Shanna Allen, says the people at the drive-thru also donated to the cause.

“Just in the last week that we’ve set up this donation, we’ve surprisingly raised a pretty good amount just through the drive-thru and our great employees, so anything I can do to help the family. “

Boykin and his mother say the support from the community has been overwhelming.

“I’ve seen people come in and give him money, they’re not even trying to get their car washed, they’re just being very generous,” Walker said.

Sunday morning, Boykin says they raised over a thousand dollars.

“I just want to thank everyone who donated and came out to help and everyone who participated as well,” Boykin said.

Tristan. who was only 25, left behind a 3-year-old son and a four-week-old daughter.
