POGBA GRATITUDE WATCH
Two Manchester United heroes made the difference in the thrilling victory over West Ham.
Jesse Lingard’s stunning strike in the 89th minute appeared to have given Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side the three points in east London.
But the Hammers were awarded a penalty and boss David Moyes called in their longest-serving player, Mark Noble, to take the kick, deep in the added time.
David De Gea wasn’t going to let a fairy tale unfold on his watch, he saved Noble’s strike, his first penalty save since October 2014. Outside scenes.
After the game, an excited and grateful Paul Pogba took to Instagram to show his respect and gratitude to his teammates, De Gea and Lingard, for the spectacular with the captions “My man” and “My other man”. We love to see it!
ROBERTSON IS TROUSERS
What happens in the locker room stays in the locker room, right? Not if you’re Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.
Okay, those photos are from the Reds’ pool, but Henderson took great pleasure, following the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace, posting a series of stories on his Instagram mocking Robertson for his choice of sub – less than glamorous clothing.
Henderson was overheard saying, “Looks like you got nothing there, boy,” as Robertson emerged from the water in skin-colored underwear. That’s right, skin-colored underwear.
IVAN THE TERRIFICALLY GOOD
Ivan Toney scored 33 goals in his debut season, sending the Bees back to the Premier League and showing no signs of slowing down.
He scored a goal in the win over Wolves and Brentford boss Thomas Frank shared his thoughts on his essential player: “What a player. What a mentality. What a presence ”.
The only question is how far can Toney take his high-flying career? On top.
FOLLOW THE JONESES
Steve Bruce took a lot of stick in the stands at Newcastle, so much so that one of his assistants had to intervene.
Frustrated with Newcastle’s performance, concerned assistant Graeme Jones made his way to the bench and sideline as Leeds dominated possession and territory.
There were times when Jones had started giving orders to the Newcastle players, undermining Bruce, but with all the frustration and a lot of stakes, someone had to take matters into their own hands!
Fans quickly noticed that tensions were mounting between Bruce and Jones. An observer asked: “How many managers do we have? “
