French PM Attal tries to hold off Jordan Bardella and far-right surge

PARIS — Two young politicians are engaged in a bitter fight for the future of France and Europe.

In the other: Gabriel Attal, the 35-year-old centrist chosen by President Emmanuel Macron to lead the French government, counter Bardella and stave off a far-right surge – in one fell swoop.
