But Lampard believes it will be worse for his assistant coach Ashley Cole.
Chelsea legend Lampard knows what to expect when he takes his Everton side to Spurs in what is a crucial game for both sides desperate for points for different reasons.
Lampard led Chelsea to victory when he last visited the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in December 2019.
As a former Chelsea man, he knows he will get a Spurs stick.
But he thinks it will be worse for former Chelsea and Arsenal defender Cole, who is part of his coaching staff at Goodison Park.
“I don’t expect a good reception – but speaking to Ashley Cole, he expects a worse reception than me!” he said.
“It’s great fun, I always enjoyed the battles with Tottenham as a Chelsea player and a West Ham player before that.
“But that’s not part of my thinking, I don’t even consider games I’ve played or managed at Chelsea – that’s a completely different position.
“You have to take the sting out of the opposition wherever you go, the focal point has to be us.”
