France: the “Great resignation” seduced many employees in search of meaning

Published on :

Like the United States or various European countries, France is currently experiencing its “Grand diffusion”. At the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022, the number of resignations reached a historically high level, with nearly 520,000 resignations per quarter. The previous record dated back to 2008, just before the financial crisis. Employees are revising their demands upwards: they aspire to higher salaries, better working conditions and want a job that makes sense to them.
