France, Germany and others pledge to advance minimum tax, despite Hungary’s veto

France, Germany and three other European Union countries have said they will continue implementing a 15% minimum tax on large corporations from next year, despite Hungary’s veto on the internationally agreed plan.

Since each of the 27 EU member states holds a veto over most tax rulings, Hungary’s move made it impossible for bloc-wide legislation to implement the plan.
