Former Packers players react to Aaron Rodgers business rumors: ‘Looks like they have a lot to work on’

Thursday’s bombshell report that Aaron Rodgers wants to leave Green Bay left NFL people around the world stunned, including a few former Rodgers teammates.

The Packers star is so “unhappy” with Green Bay that he has told members of the organization he does not want to return to the team, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who notes that the Packers are “aware “and” concerned “about Rodgers’ feelings.

Rodgers are reportedly unhappy for several reasons, including the Packers’ decision to select Utah State quarterback Jordan Love with their 2020 first-round pick. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Rodgers and the Packers negotiated a “long-term contract” after his 2020 MVP season. Rodgers became frustrated with Green Bay’s insistence on restructuring their deal instead of offering an extension, Rapoport said.

Despite Rodgers’ frustrations, the Packers have no plans to move the 37-year-old, according to Schefter.

“As we have stated since the end of the season, we are committed to Aaron in 2021 and beyond,” Green Bay general manager Brian Gutekunst told Schefter. “Aaron has been a vital part of our success and we look forward to competing for another championship with him leading our team.”

Here’s how a few former Packers players reacted to this shocking news:

Randall Cobb, WR (2011-18)

Jermichael Finley, TE (2008-13)

AJ Hawk, LB (2006-14)

“I did not speak to [Rodgers] about it, “Hawk said in Thursday’s edition of” The Pat McAfee Show. “” I do not know. I learn like you, from Schefter. I’m just trying to think – if he tells the Packers he doesn’t want to come back, that’s no guarantee he won’t be in Green Bay next year. But it seems they have a lot to do. “

TJ Lang, OL (2009-2016)
