Former EU commissioner broke Uber’s lobbying rules

Dutch politician Neelie Kroes was in talks to work for US transport company Uber even before leaving her post as EU digital and competition commissioner, according to internal files leaked to The Guardian newspaper. She also lobbied the Dutch government on behalf of the company in 2015, before the end of her 18-month cooling-off period, even though the European Commission had explicitly denied her permission to do so.
