CHICAGO (CBS) — Retired Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley has been hospitalized, a spokeswoman confirmed.
Daley felt uncomfortable at home with his daughter, Nora, Katten Muchin Rosenman law firm spokeswoman Jacqueline Heard told CBS 2.
Daley went to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in an ambulance on Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters confirmed that he had gone by ambulance.
He was and talked with family members.
“He is grateful to the nurses, doctors, staff and firefighters,” Heard said.
Daley, 80, served as mayor from 1989 to 2011 — the longest span of any Chicago mayor.
He was also hospitalized in 2014 after being disoriented on a plane returning from Arizona. He remained in intensive care for more than a week.
