For the summer, reduced train tickets and new Ouigo destinations in Brittany – France

SNCF seized the ball at the start of deconfinement, this Monday, May 3, to launch a major commercial offensive and encourage travelers to return to its trains. While travel certificates end and interregional travel is authorized, the rail group is selling a stock of 5 million tickets at a maximum of 39 euros, for trips up to August 29. Children under 12 benefit from a single price of 8 euros.

This offer will only be available until May 19 and the stock should be going very quickly.

SNCF specifies that these tickets concern all the destinations served by the Ouigo, Inoui and Intercités trains, departing from all French cities.

“Help the French to plan their summer vacation”

For Christophe Fanichet, CEO of SNCF Voyageurs, interviewed by Le Parisien-Today in France, it is “a way of meeting the expectations of the French, who now want to leave (…). The purpose of this operation is to help them plan their vacations in France, in 3,000 destinations. Over the period, this represents one in four TGV places ”.

For the bridges in May, which will be an opportunity to take advantage of the first stage of deconfinement, the SNCF is strengthening its transport plan, with 8 TGV out of 10 as of this Friday instead of 4 currently. But, many destinations on the Atlantic coast and the South-East are already full for Ascension weekend, and soon for Pentecost.

Four new Breton destinations for Ouigo

Good news for Brittany: Ouigo, SNCF’s low-cost TGV offer, is enriched with four Breton destinations this summer. After Rennes, the stations of Quimper, Auray, Vannes and Lorient will be connected from July 3 to August 29 to those of Charles de Gaulle TGV Airport, Marne La Vallée TGV and Massy TGV. These daily round trips, from Friday to Monday, are available from Tuesday, May 4, from 19 euros and at the fixed price of 5 for children. In total, this represents 40,000 new tickets. If successful, the operation will be perpetuated, says SNCF.

“Teleworking subscriptions”

The railway company does not intend to stop its seduction operation there. To win back professionals, who have had massive recourse to teleworking for a year, it is finalizing “teleworking subscriptions”. SNCF, which is negotiating with the regions, plans to announce this new package by early June. All regions should be concerned, specifies a spokesperson.
