FNC’s Tucker Carlson Attempted January 6’s “Orwellian Rewrite”

MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace said on her “Deadline” show Monday that Fox News host Tucker Carlson attempted an “Orwellian rewrite” in his coverage of footage from the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. 2021.

Wallace said, “The truth is on this editing topic. It is so contrary to what the insurgents themselves were able to present to jurors to defend themselves once accused of crimes. What Tucker Carlson is doing is detached from reality as the insurgents themselves saw it and presented it to the courts. It’s beyond selective editing, and it’s really an Orwellian rewrite of events, as I said, that unfolded before all of our eyes.

MSNBC contributor Claire McCaskill said, “It’s interesting because to me what Tucker Carlson did was split the Republican Party with a very clear line. There are those in Crazy Town who claim its selective editing has some sort of relevance. And then there’s the majority of America and maybe not the majority of the Republican Party, but a large part of the Republican Party that knows what a joke this is. They saw what happened. They know that police officers have been attacked. They know the building has been defaced. I saw this guy with horns on his head. I saw it with my own eyes. I saw him on the dais of the United States Senate, a place I know well. I saw him being disrespectful and entering a room where he was not allowed to be in any way.
