Flyers-Islanders preview: another pre-season game


One more game before they count. The Leaflets are set to wrap up the pre-season on Tuesday night when they host the New York Islanders at 19 ‘o clock

It’s no secret that injuries are already a big part of this Flyers training camp history. It’s not just long-term injuries like weekly recoveries for Joel Farabee and Sean Dressmaker or the injury of a season that will keep Ryan Ellis come out one more time. There are many players who are kept out of games as a precaution.

Carter Hart and Cam Atkinson are the most notable, having not played during the pre-season. Hart trains, but recovers from an injury. He previously said his goal was to play in that last game of the preseason, but he expects to be ready for the start of the regular season. Atkinson has also skated regularly, but is a step ahead of the rest of the roster having more familiarity with Jean Tortorellecamp style and systems.

As for the players who will participate in the game, it offers one more opportunity to stand out and make a last effort to be part of the team.
