Floyd Mayweather will fight another exhibition fight in Japan

TOKYO — Floyd Mayweather will fight again in Japan in another exhibition, this time against MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura.

The promoters said on Tuesday that the fight was scheduled for September. The rules and duration of the fight have not yet been made public.

Mayweather retired undefeated from professional boxing almost five years ago, but fought exhibitions. A little over three years ago in Japan, he knocked out Tenshin Nasukawa, a well-known Japanese kickboxer.

Mayweather was inducted into the United States International Boxing Hall of Fame on Sunday.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. delivers his left hand to Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa during their three-round exhibition match in Saitama, north of Tokyo, on December 31, 2018.
