Florida tourist embarks on racist tirade against Asian family, hits dad after children pet his dog

A tourist from Texas allegedly punched a man in Okaloosa County, Florida after his children petted the tourist’s dog.

The incident: Wade Anton, a 54-year-old tourist from Forney, Texas, allegedly made racist comments about an Asian woman and her children around 4:15 p.m. to John on Okaloosa Island. Beasley Park on Thursday, telling them to “go back to where they came from,” according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

  • Anton said he asked the children to stop petting his dog, but they ignored him, WEAR-TV reported.

  • The situation escalated into a public altercation, with the tourist spitting out anti-Asian remarks.

  • Anton rushed over to the woman’s husband, who was about 25 feet away, and punched him several times.

  • Passers-by intervened and separated the two men.

Pending his hearing, Anton has been charged with assault and battery related to hate crimes and is being held on $ 10,000 bond at Okaloosa Corrections, ABC News reported.
